Things have picked up at Gtown. Now we are seeing about 500 pets a week, and when you see that many pets you're sure to run into some weird things.
My interesting case list these last two weeks include: an osteosarcoma, two cruciate surgeries, an emergency cystotomy, a gastrotomy/enterotomy minutes away from perforating, immune mediated hemolytic anemia, duodenal perforation, immune mediated thrombocytopenia, head trauma, a pyometra, neurologic disease in a cat, and a cat with acromegaly and uncontrolled diabetes.
It's been weird and stressful. I enjoy the crazy stuff but I often feel completely out of my depth and unprepared to handle what's come crashing down on me. But I'm glad to be learning.
